KWIK SEW 3446
Now I know that this pattern is a costume pattern, but I wanted to make this for a friend named Shandora. Her baby is due in December and I have always thought that a newborn should have a pram. Baby Lauren’s colors are hot pink and lime. This is how baby Lauren’s pram came out. (Please excuse my foot in the pictures. I had to stand on my cutting table to take these pictures.)
Pattern Description: Baby costume include hot pepper, flower and pea pod. Bodies have raglan sleevs with mitt, hood with elastic in casing, and center front zipper.
Pattern Sizing: Baby xs-s-m-l-xl
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? They were pretty easy for assembly. Be careful when placing the sleeves and putting the elastic in the casing.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? There was nothing that I did not like. I was very pleased with this pattern and the outcome.
Fabric Used: Fleece
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes
SUMMER MAXI FOR MCCALLS 6559
Now there is one thing that I love and that is a summer maxi. This pattern (M6559) is great for me. I really enjoyed this pattern, not only because of the look but also for its simplicity. The only advise I have is buy it, make it and rock it!! Here are my pictures and review:
Pattern Description: Very close fitting, pullover dresses. Front seam detail, bias upper and middle fronts, lower front and back. All narrow hems.
Pattern Sizing: (14-16-18-20-22) I cut a size 18/20 (see alterations).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Extremely easy
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Love everything about this pattern. I love maxi dresses!!!
Fabric Used: Jersey Knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I cut a size 16 in the shoulders; size 18 from bust to waist and a 20 in hips. Because of the fabric you will need to cut this smaller.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Most definately will l make it again and recommend it to others.
Conclusion: BUY IT! MAKE IT! ROCK IT!!

BUTTERICK 5728
This is one of my accessory projects. I like to make accessories from time to time just to see how well they turn out. I try to see what I can tweek. This project(B5728) I made for my book club during the month that I hosted. This one here is the demo.
VOGUE 8711
Pattern Description: Fitted above mid-knee or mid-calf length, mockwrap skirts.
Pattern Sizing: (14-16-18-20) I cut a size 18
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Pretty much.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Not so easy. There were some confusing or not so clear parts with this pattern.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I did not like some of the bulkier parts. I also did not like that in some areas of the pattern the instructions were not so clear. Everything else Iliked.
Fabric Used:
Cotton Poly knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Due to the type of fabric used, please be advised that this pattern runs large. Based on my measurements I should've had to grade this pattern up. Instead I ended up cutting a size 18. I lengthened the skirt by 1.5" inches. I should've lined this skirt. I will the next time I use this fabric in a light color.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I am gonna make it again in black. I do recommend it.
Conclusion: This pattern was not so bad for a Vogue Pattern. I expected for the instructions to be more difficult, but I am glad that it was not. I don't feel like I need to be hesitant about sewing a Vogue pattern.
