THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

“Truly my soul finds rest in God.”....Psalm 62:1(NIV)

We carry through this world two types of burdens: physical and spiritual.  Physical burdens weigh us down, sap our strength, and weary our bodies.  Spiritual burdens - worries, fears, sorrows - weigh us down mentally and emotionally.

We enter into soul’s rest through our relationship with God.  By trusting God and pouring out our hearts to God in prayer, we find comfort, peace of mind, and freedom from fear and worry.  God invites us to lay down our burdens.  We are laying our burdens upon the Lord so that we no longer need to carry them ourselves.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”...2 Corinthians 9:15

Choose to accept the lavish gift of forgiveness that God gives us through the blood of Jesus.  This is a debt that we can never repay. The gift of His magnificent sacrifice and his offer of eternal life gives Him pleasure, despite our unworthiness. All we need to do is say, “Thank you.”

We are blessed when we open God’s gifts.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”......John 7:38

When renewed spiritually, our lives blossom in Christ. Whoever believes in Him becomes  a source of “living water” for others.  When we allow the Holy Spirit to direct us into acts of mercy, faith, and love, we reveal the abundant life welling up in us.
