Now this was a project that I really enjoyed. I had the fabric for awhile now. It is Charmeause fabric and when I saw M6700 I knew that it would make a beautiful garment.
Pattern Description: Pullover dress has fitted, mock
wrap bodice, shoulder ties, elasticized shoulders and raised (seamed) waist,
fitted, narow hem, thread carriers and self belt.
Pattern Sizing:
(16-24) I used size 22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the
pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to
follow? They were pretty much easy to follow. I did have a problem once I
got to the shoulder ties. The directions for the shoulder ties were a little
confusing to me. I ended up winging it and learning what to do from my
mistake.
What did you particularly like or
dislike about the pattern? I liked everything about the pattern except the
directions for the shoulder ties.
Fabric Used:
Charmeuse
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I
added 3" to the waist and 4" to the hip. It calls for knit fabric but I decided
to use Charmeuse. I also closed the front and back opening. It was very
deep.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes I will be sewing this again and I do recommend to
others.
Conclusion: I really like this dress. It calls for knits
but I like Charmeuse or something similar. If I were to use knit I would make it
a size or two smaller because this is alot of dress. You can't quite tell from
the picture on the pattern.
